The CURVYCon 2017 NYFW

So I attended the CURVYCon last week and like last year I had a blast! Being in a room full of curvy/ plus size women who are living and loving their lives brought me such joy and empowerment. Of course knowing that I was going to be surrounded by these beautiful and strong women, I prepared myself for the fabulosity of this two day event that promised to uplift me.Over the course of the two day event, attendees were treated to a series of panels, parties, brunches and lunches, a fitness session, and of course serious shopping.Being

Day 1
On Day 1 of the conference, the hosts , CeCe Olisa and Chastity Garner treated all ticket holders to a morning fitness session that was sponsored by Target which I missed sadly due to traffic. Next up was the Platinum Brunch, for platinum ticket holders, also sponsored by Target and where I met some of my favorite bloggers and some fabulous curvy ladies. For this event I wore my black and white midi dress from Victoria Beckham's collection from Target. It was super chic, simple, and perfect for an afternoon brunch.
After the brunch was part one of Shop and Sip and the first every CURVYCon runway show powered by Dia&Co! There we got to see the new upcoming fashion lines from many of plus size retailers and a chance to feel like celebrities at New York Fashion Week. After being dazzled by the stunning clothing and curvy models, platinum ticket holders like myself were invited to a karaoke party held by Macys at their 34th street location. For the second half of the day, I needed an outfit that would carry over from mid afternoon all the way to the night time. Choosing the daring floral two pieces ensemble from Glamour X Lane Bryant's September collection was the only way to go.

Day 2
On Day 2 of the CURVYCon, they typically have panels with bloggers, celebrity guests and the retailers that serve the plus size and curvy community. This year's panels included plus size supermodels like Precious Lee, Emmy nominated actress Chrissy Metz, TLC star Whitney Thore from 'My Big Fat Fabulous Life',and so much more! The panels were so informative and a great way for the curvy community to come together to talk about issues and topics relating solely to us. For this final day, I chose to wear this ultra sleek silk trouser from Lane Bryant's new Fall collection and pair it with a white button down with cut outs on the shoulder.
