You Are Worthy - Suicide Awareness Week 2017

Your life is worth living.

You matter.

You are loved.

You are not alone.

Today marks the start of Suicide Awareness Week and is also National Suicide Awareness Day. The month of September is dedicated to shining a light on a topic that is often brushed aside and rarely discussed because the subject matter is uncomfortable for many. Suicide, depression, anxiety, and mental health issues affects so many people and families.

Mental illness is real. Depression and self loathing is real. Anxiety, low self - esteem, and insecurities are real.

Having battled low self-esteem and suicidal thoughts myself, I am aware of the heavy burden and sense of loneliness you feel. I know you want to give up, I know that life seems hard right now and I know that the thoughts you are having seem to be your only way out, but it's not.

Do not allow someone else's actions, words, labels, or unkind sentiments to be a negative force in your life. You are important. You are a survivor. You are courageous. You are fearfully and wonderfully made.

If you are struggling with depression, anxiety, and/or suicidal thoughts please know that you are not alone and that your life is worth living. Please reach out to a loved one, a friend, or the number below for help.

National Suicide Prevention Hotline: 1- (800) - 273 - 8255

Love,

Brittany
